The happiest people…
Having just landed at Murtala Airport after a flight from London I walk down the stairs towards the Immigration desk, when a huge banner attacks my eye-sight:
“Nigerian – the land of the happiest people on earth.”
I stand patiently in the row for ‘Non-Nigerians’ when I hear a black boy next to me telling his mother in a loud voice:
“Mammy, I am British, not so ! I don’t want to be Nigerian!”
His over-dressed Mummy tells him to SHUT UP, puts her hand over his mouth.
I must FIND that kid in EKO (Lagos) to find out whether that kid already masters the art of reading !!!
